Vascular
The London Clinic Vascular Unit offers a comprehensive
range of diagnostic and
therapeutic facilities for both venous and arterial
vascular disease. A dedicated team
of vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists,
vascular laboratory technicians and specialist nurses provide
diagnostic and therapeutic services across all aspects of the
circulatory system.
Advanced diagnostics
Our advanced Angiography suite in our Radiology department helps
us to examine blood vessels in greater detail. Using a rapid series
of X-rays we create high-resolution images of the patient's
circulatory system.
Varicose veins laser treatment
We can use a minimally invasive laser treatment, EndoLaser Vein System (ELVes),
which is performed under local anaesthetic and can
take less than one hour. The treatment eschews the need to
surgically strip veins, avoids scarring and substantially reduces
recovery time. The patient will be able to walk immediately, and
return to work almost immediately.
We use laser light to treat lesions such as varicose and facial
spider veins.

Deep vein thrombosis
GP referrals of such cases have increased, so we have expanded
and improved our scanning service. It includes ultrasound
diagnostics for blood clots, consultation with a vascular
specialist and full blood screening and therapy. A vascular
surgeon will review a case if a clot is discovered, and will often
work with a haematologist to monitor the treatment.
Emergencies
A 24-hour service is available for patients with acute vascular
disorders, such as inadequate blood flow and blockage or
constriction of the blood vessels.
