Sports injuries
The London Clinic has the expertise,
facilities and medical technology to treat a wide range of sports
injuries. Our consultants are leaders in their fields and are
in high demand by amateur sports enthusiasts and competitors at
national and international level.
Sports injuries: how we can help
Our
expert orthopaedic consultants at The London Clinic offer diagnosis
and assessment for common sports injuries and are able to
provide medical and complex surgical treatment if needed.
The Clinic has excellent imaging facilities to pinpoint
the damage that has occured after a sports injury.
Prompt treatment is essential in sports injuries but it needs to be
the correct treatment based on an accurate diagnosis. X-rays,
Ultrasound scans, CT scans and MRI scans are all done on site
using the latest equipment. Most appointments can
be arranged the same day and the results become available within
hours direct to the requesting consultants' computers.
We have a fully equipped angiography suite
that can produce high resolution images of the spine to enable
image-guided injections to treat sports injuries that cause pain of
spinal origin.
Recovering from sports injuries
Rehabilitation following a sports injury can
take time but our Hydrotherapy (aquatic
therapy)pool offers the perfect start for
professional and amateur sports enthusiasts to regain their
mobility. Water is a supportive medium for the body, allowing
movement without strain. Our hydrotherapy facility offers
rehabilitation for knee, back and shoulder sports injuries and your
therapy can be directed by our own physiotherapist, or in
combination with a team physio or team coach.
Our physiotherapy
department can also devise a personalised programme of
exercise and stretching to get you back to full mobility and
fitness as soon as possible.
