Physiotherapy

The physiotherapists in this specialist unit provide a full and individual assessment of

each patient, to subsequently plan the short-term and long-term objectives of a therapeutic programme.

Whether to educate for improved management of a neurological condition, provide

post-operative support following neurosurgery, or evaluate the effect of a cerebro-vascular incident, the aims are the same:

- To facilitate normal movement

- To encourage function and maximise functional independence for a safe return home, or

- To make the appropriate referral to a specialist neuro-rehabilitation unit.
