Titan laser skin tightening
How does laser skin tightening work?
The Titan
laser skin tightening system is a non surgical procedure that
uses a safe, infrared light to heat the lower layer of skin
(dermis). This heating causes the skin’s natural collagen to
contract resulting in lifted, tighter skin.
Whilst the treatment is taking place, the
skin’s surface (epidermis) is protected through continuous cooling
with the Titan hand piece. No preparation is required prior
to treatment and no injections or anaesthetic are needed.
The Titan procedure also promotes new collagen
growth which results in further tightening of the skin showing
improvement in folds, lines and lax skin.
How effective is laser skin tightening?
The treatment can be used successfully on all
skin types from fair to dark skin. Loose skin responds very
well to the treatment and some patients will notice an immediate
improvement. Most patients will see gradual improvement as
the skin tightens with the new collagen growth.
What areas can laser skin tightening be used on?
The Titan laser can be used on many different
areas of the body where skin is loose such as along the jaw line,
neck, under the chin, forehead, the abdomen and upper arm.
How long does laser skin tightening take?
The length of each session is dependent on the size of the area
being treated. As a guide, treatment to the face will be
carried out in about 30 minutes.
How many sessions will I need?
Your consultant will advise the number and
frequency of sessions you may require. Patients are usually
treated over two sessions, separated by two to six weeks.
Some of our previous patients have found that a single treatment
has produced very good results.
Further sessions of laser skin tightening can
be performed in the future, each resulting in further
improvement.
Are there any side effects?
The treatment feels hot rather than
uncomfortable. There may be some minor redness or mild
swelling which can be expected to disappear within two hours.
