Dr Julian Paul Teare is a consultant gastroenterologist of 15 years’ standing. He has sessions at The Royal Marsden and St Mary’s Hospital Paddington, and is an honorary senior lecturer at Imperial College London. He trained at King’s College Hospital, Guy’s and St Thomas' and St Mary’s, with fellowships in Vancouver, before being appointed consultant at St Mary’s in 1995. He was appointed to The Royal Marsden in 2008.

Dr Teare is an expert endoscopist and he specialises in colonoscopy, allowing a significant proportion of patients to have the procedure without sedation as it can be pain-free. His interests include colonoscopy and colon cancer screening, abdominal pain and inflammatory bowel disease.
