Welcome to the orthopaedic, bone and joint team

At The London Clinic we believe that the teams looking after you should be experienced and focused on looking after patients with specific treatment needs.  That’s why our nursing teams are specialised and our orthopaedic, bone and joint services are no different.

Bone and joint conditions are our speciality

Our orthopaedic nursing team, led by Catherin Cullinane, is dedicated to looking after patients with bone and joint problems.  They work closely with consultant orthopaedic surgeons to make sure you are cared for by nurses who know just what you need.

There are 24 people in the team, made up of healthcare assistants, specialist nurses, sisters and managers. Catherine is dedicated to training her team up to the most exceptional standards. In her own words, “One day I will be an old lady and these nurses will be looking after me. This is my opportunity to train them to do this properly.”

Training for the future

This philosophy filters down through her entire team and the department is actively involved in student training. Amanda Davieson a sister on the ward, works closely with Catherine, and also acts as sign off mentor, one of only three in the entire hospital, helping to train clinical staff coming up through the ranks.

An example of this dedication to progression and training is Marites Gasson, a member of staff who joined The London Clinic as a cleaner on the floor, and showing an interest and natural aptitude for healthcare has developed her experience and has trained to become a healthcare assistant on the floor.

Patient testimonials

Patients are cared for by dedicated staff, evidence shown in some of the heartwarming testimonials the team have received.

It’s hard for me to fully explain how important you have all been to me on this 6th floor. You all keep me smiling when I’m not feeling quite so good and optimistic if I start to waiver. It’s fabulous to know I have so much support and you always keep me motivated.36 year old lady, following a femoral replacement

Everyone was always so helpful, so friendly, so courteous and so professional. When one feels as ill as I did when admitted, and for some time afterwards, it goes a long way to help when smiling faces and willing helpers so that ‘extra mile’ to make things easier and it was very much appreciated.56 year old lady following a total hip replacement
