The future of cancer care at The London
Clinic
The London Clinic’s development programme is currently well into
its second phase. The demolition of
the existing buildings at 58-62 Marylebone High Street and
21-23 Devonshire Place is the future location of The London Clinic
Cancer Centre.
This location is directly across from the Clinic’s main entrance
at 20 Devonshire Place. Demolition for this construction programme
began in May 2006. In November 2006, the
civil engineers began the construction of the basement box which
will house the leading radiotherapy systems such as Cyberknife®
and Trilogy® and the tunnel link to
the
main hospital.
This building will enable our current oncology services to
expand into a purpose built edifice designed by Ashen & Allen,
one of the UK’s leading medical architects.
The building will span 3 levels below ground and five to
complement the Clinic which currently spans ten floors and 82,000
square feet.
“The London Clinic is committed to provide excellence in
healthcare and the new hospital will allow
us to continue to lead the field in cancer services.
This is a very exciting time as we come
another step closer to realising our strategic aim of
building a dedicated centre at the forefront
of cancer treatment and care. It will house the latest
technology and equipment and offer
progressive treatments to cancer patients.”
