I am a clinical lead in hepatopancreaticobiliary (HPB) surgery, performing a large number of complex liver and pancreatic operations.
My aim is to improve patient’s survival and reduce operative risks through surgical innovation and translational research, and surgcial techniques to minimise surgical trauma. For example, I now perform almost all of liver and pancreatic operations via "keyholes", laparoscopically, including laparoscopic Whipple's procedure.I have developed and set this up to benefit patients with complicated liver and pancreatic diseases.
I have a strong interest in translational research related to liver and pancreatic disease having produced a stream of high impact publications in peer reviewed journals. I am also a Royal College Examiner for MRCS/FRCS.
