Roger Wong is a consultant at St Thomas’ Hospital (London) Ashford Hospital (Middlesex) and Frimley Park Hospital.
He obtained his first undergraduate degree in Neurobiology at the University of California, Berkeley and his medical degree from St. George’s Hospital Medical School, University of London. His ophthalmic training in the London area included Moorfields Eye Hospital, Kings College Hospital, and St. Thomas’ Hospital.
His interests include minimally invasive suture-less vitreoretinal surgery for retinal detachment, macular diseases, diabetic eye disease, inflammatory eye diseases, complicated cataract surgery, ocular trauma, and a rare inflammatory eye condition called acute retinal necrosis. He has been invited to speak at various national and international conferences. Mr. Wong continues to be active in clinical research having published over 40 peer-reviewed articles.
He is also involved in teaching undergraduate medical students from Kings College, London and subspecialty ophthalmology trainees.
Roger Wong is an active sportsman enjoying surfing and golf in his spare time. He also enjoys other sports such as football, basketball, and badminton.
Mr Wong has created his own website and hopes to learn a fourth language whilst mastering the guitar.
