Martin qualified from the University College London Medical School. He trained exclusively in specialist vascular and endovascular surgery in Birmingham and Australia, and completed further vascular research at Birmingham University, He was appointed a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon at Heart of England Hospitals in 2011, and in 2015 became Clinical Director of this major UK vascular unit.
He is Educational Lead for Vascular Surgery in the West Midlands, and is a member of the British Medical Association, the Vascular Society of Great Britain & Ireland (VSGBI) and the British Society of Endovascular Therapy.
A knowledgeable, approachable expert in keyhole surgery, he treats patients with venous and arterial disease with minimally invasive endovascular techniques such as ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy, radiofrequency ablation and endovenous laser therapy for varicose veins and leg ulcers.
He provides endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) for abdominal aortic aneurysms and the full range of treatments for managing leg pain and claudication, including angioplasty and bypass.
