Trained as a Registrar in radiotherapy and chemotherapy at the Middlesex, Westminster, Charing Cross and Mount Vernon Hospitals.Dr Cottrillwas a Senior Registrar at the Royal Marsden Hospital for 3 years before taking up his post at Barts in 1998.
Dr Cottrill has specialist interests in the chemotherapy and radiotherapy of breast cancer and the chemo-radiotherapy of oesophageal, gastric, pancreatic, rectal and anal cancer. He also has many years of experience in the management of Kaposi's sarcoma, both HIV- and non-HIV related.
Dr Cottrill is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Barts and the London School of Medicine and is a member of the teaching faculty of the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO). He lectures internationally on the subject of evidence-based radiation therapy and has extensive practical experience in the fields of intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), RapidArc (volumetric arc) radiotherapy, image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT) and stereotactic radiosurgery (CyberKnife). Dr Cottrill is a member of the London Clinic Breast Cancer and Gastrointestinal Cancer Multidisciplinary Teams (MDTs).
