The complementary therapies team

The complementary therapies team prides itself on taking a holistic approach to the treatment of cancer, offering four therapy sessions free of charge to patients.

Many people are interested in using complementary therapies to help them cope with cancer and the various treatments this entails.

Facing cancer can be very distressing and complementary therapies are offered alongside the clinical treatment prescribed by your oncology consultant such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Our small team is based at 22 Devonshire place

Our complementary therapists aim to help you:

  • sleep better
  • ease aches, pains and/or headaches
  • increase energy levels
  • relieve dry skin and itching
  • ease side effects such as nausea, constipation, fatigue
  • make you feel relaxed
  • ease anxiety and feelings of panic
  • improve your quality of life

Within the small dedicated complementary therapies team, the vision is to offer cancer patients a holistic and progressive approach to the treatment of cancer.

With the opening of the Duchess of Devonshire Wing at 22 Devonshire Place in 2010, a new dedicated therapy room opened, extending the therapy service to patients attending for radiotherapy and chemotherapy as well as seeing patients admitted to wards.
