We are pleased to announce that The London Clinic has received the Soil Association’s Bronze Food for Life Catering Mark for patient and staff meals.

The Food for Life Catering Mark is a recognised, industry standard across public and private sector catering and provides a guarantee that food served in schools, universities, hospitals, cafes and the workplace are freshly prepared, seasonal and better for animal welfare.

Food providers are independently audited to ensure that they meet high standards of provenance and traceability. The Bronze award provides a guarantee that the food served to patients and staff is healthy, fresh, trustworthy, traceable and free from harmful additives and trans fats. All meat is from animals farmed to UK welfare standards and all eggs are from cage-free hens.

Rob Sexton, Chief Executive of Soil Association Certification, says:  “This is a fantastic achievement by The London Clinic – who are together leading the way in the drive to change food culture in the workplace and for patients. More and more, people want to know where their food comes from and how it was produced. The Catering Mark helps organisations tackle these challenges by enabling people to have access to a healthy and sustainable menu at work or during their stay in hospital. Achieving the Bronze Catering Mark is a great way of showing staff and shareholders the great work that the Clinic is doing.”

Paul Quirk, Operations Manager – Hotel Services says: “we’re delighted that our Executive Chef and his team have achieved the Bronze Food for Life Catering Mark for our staff and patient meals. We think it is important for businesses to take practical action to improve the food they serve.

Our Bronze award demonstrates our commitment to good food, our staff, our patients and the environment. The award provides Clinic employees and patients with a guarantee that they are eating meals which are freshly prepared, healthy, ethical and environmentally sustainable.”
